Graphic Design Service Fees

Everything you'll need to know about our pricing for graphic design services.

General Graphic Design Fees

Design fees include the initial design and up to three rounds of revisions. After three rounds of revisions, additional design time is charged at $75 per hour, billed in half-hour increments.

Pricing for individual products is listed below.

Design fees are based on working with print-ready, CMYK-compatible files supplied by the customer. If files are provided in non-editable formats (such as flattened JPG, PNG, or PDF) or in RGB color mode, they may require rebuilding to meet print specifications. Artwork rebuilds are billed separately, with larger or more complex rebuilds (such as recreating graphics from scratch) quoted based on time required.

Clients work directly with a Primoprint in-house designer. Phone calls are by appointment only. Please email all text, files, and revisions to help reduce typos and ensure the designer has a clear reference. Providing all project files upfront allows us to confirm they are print-ready and provide a complete cost estimate before starting work. Customers may also work with an external designer to prepare files for print.

Upon completion of a print purchase, clients will receive print-ready, editable design files. Primoprint will not be liable to store custom designs beyond 30 days of design completion. We encourage all design clients to save the files provided, as they may be requested for future orders or for typsetting services. Failure to supply design files may result in new design and/or typesetting fees for future orders.

All custom designs will not be resold to other clients.

Unfortunately, we are unable to design for printers other than ourselves due to differences in prepress setup, color process, equipment, and stocks that may result in unexpected outcomes. Our design fee structure is based on the job being printed within our own facilities.

EDDM® Design

In preparation for the design of your Every Door Direct Mail® postcard, please provide your designer with:

  1. A high-resolution version of your logo (preferably .ai, .eps, or editable .pdf)

  2. All contact information and text to include

  3. Photos to use

  4. Return address

  5. Postcard size

  6. If you’re using Full Service or Print Only

  7. Any creative direction you have (or let your designer create a concept for you)

The initial EDDM® design fee of $150 covers the original postcard layout and up to three rounds of revisions. It also covers small text edits for future reprints. Larger edits, such as new layouts, major artwork changes, or file rebuilds, are billed separately based on the time required. If the supplied artwork is not in a print-ready, CMYK-compatible format, it may require an artwork rebuild—billed separately.

To avoid unexpected charges, please send all project files to us before placing your order so we can confirm they meet print specifications and provide an accurate cost estimate.

Design Rebuild/Edits

Our design team can recreate previously printed artwork and make edits to existing files. Rebuild fees are based on the complexity and time required for revisions. For example, converting RGB raster graphics into CMYK, matching fonts, adding bleed, and setting up a file for print is considered a rebuild and will be quoted before work begins.

If you know the exact fonts used in your design, please send the font files to help ensure an exact match. If fonts are unknown, we will match them as closely as possible, though a 100% match cannot be guaranteed.

Providing editable, CMYK-compatible files upfront helps minimize rebuild charges and speeds up the proofing process. Customers may also work with an external designer to prepare print-ready files before sending them to us.

Typesetting Program

If you already have a completed business card design, we can use your artwork to set up additional cards as part of our typesetting program. We ask that print orders (including the applicable design fee) be placed before starting the typesetting process.

Customers will receive a proof of each employee card prior to printing, and are responsible for reviewing each card carefully for typos. No card will go to print without written approval from the customer.

If the text in your provided artwork is not editable, we can recreate the text elements as part of the typesetting service. If you know the name of the font used, please send the font file to help ensure an exact match. If the font is unknown, we will match it as closely as possible, though a 100% match cannot be guaranteed. This service is billed per project complexity.

Please send editable, CMYK-compatible files whenever possible to avoid delays or additional charges.
